Special Photos at Notable Places

Air India’s cabin crew launched a sophisticated promotional effort promoting the Delhi-Newark route debut by recreating legendary New York City film sequences. The campaign ties aviation heritage with film history in seven key places.

The crew recreated the classic 1932 shot ‘Lunch Atop a Skyscraper’ at Rockefeller Plaza, capturing the essence of New York’s architectural legacy. They replayed sequences from “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York” and “The Devil Wears Prada” on Central Park’s Gapstow Bridge, connecting them to contemporary movies.

The great staircase of the Metropolitan Museum of Art served as a backdrop for sequences from “Gossip Girl,” “Ocean’s 8,” and “When Harry Met Sally.” The Times Square location shoot included references to “Vanilla Sky,” “Friends with Benefits,” and Bollywood’s “Kal Ho Naa Ho,” which bridged Eastern and Western cinema.

New York’s yellow taxis were extensively displayed, representing urban movement and cinematic storytelling. The Rotunda Room at the Pierre Hotel recreated the renowned tango scene from “The Scent of a Woman.”

The campaign ended at Sutton Place Park, beneath Queensboro Bridge, with a recreation of the iconic dawn scene from “Manhattan.” View the photographs here.
