ISTANBUL- Significantly expanding and modernizing the fleet of Turkish low-cost airline Pegasus Airlines (PC), Boeing and Turkish low-cost carrier announced an agreement for up to 200 Boeing 737 MAX 10 (737-10) aircraft.

The sequence comprises 100 committed acquisitions of the 737-10 type together with options for further 100 aircraft.

The biggest aircraft in the MAX series, the Boeing 737-10 can carry up to 230 passengers and has a 5,740 km (3,101 nautical mile range). Comparatively to previous models, its sophisticated design lowers fuel consumption and pollutants by 20%.

The efficiency and adaptability of the aircraft will help Pegasus Airlines to run more affordable routes and boost passenger capacity by means of cost control.

Emphasizing the airline’s long-standing connection with Boeing, from its industry introduction in 1990, Pegasus Airlines CEO Güliz Öztürk stressed “Expanding our fleet with the 737-10 fits our growth targets both domestically in Turkey and abroad,” Öztürk remarked.

She pointed out that the company’s orders are a component of a larger plan to add additional routes thereby increasing the network of Pegasus Airlines.

Öztürk also pointed out how the airline handled the extra 100 aircraft possibilities. “We will assess fleet needs and market conditions to choose on turning the remaining options into firm orders in the next years,” she said.

The contract supports Pegasus Airlines’ dedication to operational effectiveness and steady expansion.

Beginning operations over 35 years ago with the Boeing 737 Classic, Pegasus Airlines is adding the Boeing 737-10 to meet its rising travel demand.

The 737-10 will help Pegasus Airlines grow into new markets all over Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa. Underlining the region’s potential for development, Boeing forecasts around 7,900 single-aisle aircraft sales to European and Central Asian operators over the next 20 years.

Pegasus CEO Güliz Öztürk pointed out that the purchase fits Boeing’s National Aerospace Initiative established in Türkiye, 2017. “This cooperation will open fresh chances for Turkish producers and support the larger aviation sector,” Öztürk remarked.

With 100 737-10 aircraft acquired by the airline, overall orders for the 737 MAX series reach over 1,200.

For the first instance, Boeing has disclosed the sales distribution for its 737 MAX lineup, with the upcoming -10 variant nearing the milestone of 1,000 orders.
