Few Americans can obtain the greatest Social Security retirement or SSDI payouts. People who receive SSI have a poor income and little to no resources. Therefore, average checks and direct deposits may be much closer to reality than large amounts few can qualify for. For example, as of November 2024, all SSI users will get around $698.35 in payments, according to the SSA in December.
If you are under 18 and receiving SSI payments, you can expect to get approximately $813.30 in confirmed Social Security. This is the age group with a higher average payment. Seniors aged 65 and beyond receive the smallest average SSI benefit. They receive approximately $575.85, according to the SSA. This could be because they are also receiving retirement benefits. SSI recipients aged 18 to 64 can expect to get approximately $744.73 on average.
