DUBAI- A major turning point in their long-standing collaboration has been reached when UAE-based Emirates Airline (EK) debuted a unique Real Madrid-themed livery on its Boeing 777 aircraft.

Yesterday, January 7, 2025, the plane made its initial landing in Madrid (MAD), carrying the team’s first team to Jeddah (JED) for the Spanish Super Cup competition.

Emirates Real Madrid Livery

Since its inception in 2011, the agreement between Emirates and Real Madrid has grown to become the longest jersey sponsorship in La Liga history, with plans to continue until 2026.

Prominent Real Madrid players, such as Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, Luka Modric, Jude Bellingham, Lucas Vazquez, and Federico Valverde, are displayed on the outside of the aircraft.

Over the course of their ten-year partnership, Emirates’ commitment to fan contact has been demonstrated by unique encounters and interactions with renowned players.

By flying on several foreign routes, such as those to Athens, Vienna, Miami, Seattle, and Kuwait, the specially built Boeing 777 will introduce the Real Madrid brand to a worldwide audience.

The airline, which uses both A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft, began operating in Madrid in 2010 and now has a full double daily flight schedule. Through a comprehensive retrofit effort, Emirates has successfully upgraded 36 aircraft with improved interiors and Premium Economy cabins, demonstrating its dedication to providing exceptional customer experience.

Emirates now offers flights to Edinburgh, Kuwait, and Bahrain as part of its increased service capabilities following the recent acquisition of the A350 to its fleet.

Livery on A380

Emirates demonstrated its cooperation with Real Madrid by flying the squad from Madrid to Riyadh on a customized A380 in January 2023. For this special charter flight, the airline added distinctive branding to the world’s largest passenger airplane.

The airplane had a 125-square-meter sticker on each side portraying Real Madrid players Nacho Fernández, Dani Carvajal, Thibaut Courtois, Karim Benzema, Luka Modrić, Tony Kroos, and Vini Jr. On January 11, 2023, the club headed to Saudi Arabia to engage in the Spanish Super Cup semi-final against Valencia.

Emirates has committed to keeping the special livery for five months, incorporating it into normal service routes such as London Heathrow, New York, and Melbourne. The aircraft’s global deployment to approximately 40 A380 locations provided opportunity for Real Madrid fans all around the world to snap photographs of this one-of-a-kind design.

The airline’s strategic commitment in football sponsorships has helped it gain global brand awareness in the sports business. Emirates continues to deepen its relationship with football fans through experiential marketing efforts that provide premium services both in-flight and on the ground.
